Minors - Player Pitch FAQs

Q: What are the ages for Minors – Player Pitch?
A: Typical ages are 8-10.

Q: Do you keep score and are there umpires?
A: Yes. Every team maintains a scorebook for each game. League standings are kept to determine a regular season winner and to determine playoff games. There is a home plate umpire and occasionally a field umpire.

Q: How long are games?
A: Games are typically up to 6 innings and last approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

Q: What size field do they play on and where is the field?
A: All games are played on a regulation Little League field with a grass infield and grass outfield. Bases are 60’ apart and the pitcher mound is 46’ from home plate.

Games are at Miller Park. Practices are at Miller Park, Linkhorne Elementary, Bass Elementary or TC Miller.

Q: Can I request to have my child play on a team with their friends?
A: Since this division utilizes a draft to determine teams, we are typically not able to fulfill teammate requests. If you believe you have a circumstance the league should consider please let us know before you register.

Q: How much will my child get to play?
A: Our rules require the manager to play each child at least 50% of each game.

Q: What is the purpose of evaluations and a draft?
A: The league holds evaluations to gauge players skills across fundamentals like fielding, throwing, batting, and pitching so that we can make teams as even as possible at these levels. A draft is the best way to evenly spread the various skill level of players throughout the league after they have been evaluated.
